Goff-Gough Genealogy

Welcome to the Goff-Gough Family Association Genealogy database. This site is under construction, with a goal to include all Goff, Gough, McGough and variant Trees globally.
Many researchers have provided GEDCOMs. While the GGFA cannot guarantee complete accuracy, Trees must pass a quality-control regimen prior to being loaded to TNG:

• Only Relevant Lineages: Trees only include the earliest known Goff/Gough ancestor and his or her descendants and their spouses. People identified as living in submitted trees are privatized.
• DNA-Based Relationships: Tree names are based on YDNA genetic addresses, when available, to lower the chance of duplicate lineages. Autosomal DNA is also being used to assess accuracy.
• Rules-Based Scrubbing: Details of people have been analyzed by a rules-based tool, which looks for various problems, such as out-of-range age at key life milestones, missing gender, and out-of-order life milestones.
• Quality Place Names: Place names have been scrutinized by an automated tool to ensure they can be geocoded for map placement.
