      Obituary for Carl F. "Rooster" White
      Carl F. "Rooster" White, 88, of Scotts Hill, TN, passed away Thursday, May 10th, at Jackson-Madison Co. General Hospital.

      He was a retired pipe fitter for the Local 798 Union, he was a Corporal in the US Army serving in the Korean War, he was a Decatur County Commissioner for the 2nd District, serving since 1986, a member of the American Legion, served on the Historic Doe Creek School Committee and a member of the Ebenezer Masonic Lodge #441 where he served as Junior Deacon. He has been a Mason for 66 years.

      Carl is survived by four daughters, Deborah Taylor, of South Fulton, TN; Judy (Reed) Wilkins, of Parsons; Freda White, of Scotts Hill; Carla (David) Barr, of Scotts Hill; a son, Charlie (Diana) White, of Scotts Hill; a sister, Kathlene Freeman, of Rogers, AR; three brothers, Joe E. (Mary Alice) White, of Scotts Hill; Terry Wayne (Shella) White, of Scotts Hill; Floyd M. White, of Scotts Hill.

      He is also survived by 13 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Vernell White, parents, Floyd and Martha Ellen White, a brother, Robert D. White, 2 sisters, Lavon Jones and Raymell Lomax, son-in-law, Benny Taylor, sisters-in-law, Anita White and Patty White, brothers-in-law, Robert Freeman, Kenneth Jones and Connie Lomax and a grandchild, Owen White.

      His Funeral Service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Scotts Hill, TN, at 2 PM on Saturday, May 12th, with Donald Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery with Masonic and Military Rites at the graveside.

      Visitation will be Friday 5 PM - 9 PM and Saturday 10 AM until service.

      Per his brother Joe, Carl came up with Roster as his CB handle. He was talking to his son Charlie, who didn't know who he was, and Charlie asked who he was talking to, and Carl replied "The Red Rooster". And Rooster became his nickname.
