see Charles H. DAVENPORT who married Betty for more on this guy.
familysearch.org has a Charles H. DAVENPORT b 1858 married Miss M.M. COOPER age 21, 13 Dec 1882 White, AR. John M PATTERSON witness A Mrs. Rhoda DAVENPORT married a Robert M REYNOLDS 12 Feb 1884 in White Co., ARKANSAS. She might be his mother? Rhodica's dau. Mary is in White Co. AR in 1900 & 1910.
See Nannie KELLER DAVENPORT DAVENPORT notes. Conley had a sister in Ardmore, Mrs. Perry STILLWELL (found marriage record in Carter Co., it's Lucy). Nannie's info also says the DAVENPORTs came from Arkansas in 1898 which would agree with the birthstates and years of children
Is this the same as Charles, son of James & Rhodicy? his kids are connected weird on FTM - need to fix sometime. This guy's parents are b. TN so that's correct. Where is his death cert. That might help. His son Conley married Nannie KELLER. After he died she married Thomas Henry DAVENPORT who is a son of a different Charles Henry DAVENPORT, who is the brother of James DAVENPORT, husb. of Rhodicy. That would make her two husband's first cousins once removed. Need more to connect them . . . Conley's dau. Violet said her father's family came to Indian Territory from Arkansas in 1898.
There is a Charles H DAVENPORT who married a Miss M.M. Cooper in White Co., AR. That's where Mary Rebecca DAVENPORT, d/o James lived in 1900 & 1910. It might also be where James' widow, Rhodica (Rhoda) married an R.M. REYNOLDS. So try and find out the name of this Charles' first wife. Was it COOPER?
b. Oct 1858 Arkansas
married before 1882 probably Arkansas
1883 - 1892 Arkansas for birth of children
wife died before 1900
1900 Indian Territory (OK) (not married)
1902 married Betty STEWART
1907 ran for Clerk of Akers Township, OK (unopposed)
1910 Sarrah E is his wife b. ca 1873 TX/MO/IL
1910, 1920, 1930 Aker, Carter Co., OK
1920 Betty is his wife TX/TX/TX b. ca 1873
1930 Sara is his wife, first married at 30, b. ca 1873 TX/TX/TX
Betty & Sara are the same woman - age is consistent and they're always b. TX (could be name is Sarah E(lizabeth for which Betty would be a nickname)
Probably was in Arkansas in 1880 so these are my likely suspects:
DAVENPORT, Charles Self <1857> M W Bir: AR

The Daily Ardmoreite, Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma, Monday, January 25, 1915 From the Duncan Banner
General Farm Conditions
CHARLEY DAVENPORT was here today from Glenn. He says the cotton acreage reduction in his section will be greater than the general acreage over the county. He says many farmers never have a hog to kill or a cow to milk. But the farmers who do have stock are doing very well, but those who depended entirely on cotton are in pretty bad shape, some of the children do not have shoes and clothing so they are not attending school. He is of the opinion that the compulsory school law will not be enforced this winter. Mr. Davenport has built two houses this winter and has been busy himself, but there is little work to be done at wages in the country.
[Also listed on the juror list as C.H. DAVENPORT]
Also living in Akers is Anna DAVENPORT EVANS, daughter of Cornelius Sylvester DAVENPORT, s/o Hiram DAVENPORT. Cornelius is living in Ardmore too. He's known as "Ves".
