Notes - Rose Marie (Drexler) Gough, 91, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Newburgh Health Care.
Throughout her life Rose was a devoted member of St. Benedict Cathedral. She redecorated the entire rectory including wall papering and painting. Rose worked countless hours at the dinners and quilting with her friends at St. Benedict. She was a Eucharistic Minister, Past President of the PTA, Cub Scout Den Mother and was inducted into the Brutie Society in 1998 for her dedicated service to the church. Years ago she worked at Herman's Candy Store and later she and her sister, Virginia, owned and operated a decorating business. Rose loved her family and enjoyed spending time and fishing with them at her river camps on the Wabash River and Niagara Lake in Kentucky.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Thomas, Sr., in March of 1991; son, Jerry Gough in September 1996; parents, John and Elizabeth Drexler; brothers, James Drexler, Bernard Drexler and John Drexler, Jr.; and sisters, Edna Mann, Roberta Ubelhor, Virginia Henderson and Mary Agnes Thornburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Titzer and husband, John of Newburgh; sons, Thomas S. Gough, Jr. and wife, Judy of Newburgh, Retired Lt. Colonel Michael J. Gough and wife, Karen of Vicksburg, Miss.; grandchildren, Patrick Retter, Cynthia Shoulders, Pamela Block, Renee, Todd, Brian and Andy Gough, Jesse Tate, Jennifer Mabrey, James and Julia Gough, Greg Titzer and Julie Miller; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Drexler Thornburg of Evansville; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral will begin at 8:30 am Thursday, March 24, at the funeral home and continue at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
