  • Notes
    • Mike, You are right. I have driven this road a few times. It was built after John Baptist Gough, George Gough, Matthew Nevitt and the Horrell's moved into the area. The Pulliam's moved in a little later. The road is a few miles west of Mt. Eden starting on the Spencer--Shelby Co. line. Sarah Gough is the dau. of Eleanor ( Elander) Nevitt and the Widow of George Gough, he died in 1836. Ignatius is her brother and was the guardian of my G Grandmother Mary Jane Gough until her marriage to Gideon Pulliam.
Its quite the historic place for me, it's the birthplace of my Grandfather. Finding the order to build the road was a real find as it named the land owners the road would be built on. Now if your thinking the Nevitt's are my relativies-- they aren't. Mary Jane Gough was the daughter of George's first wife Mary Beaven.
