Spencer County Court , 14 December, 1861
Appearing to the satisfaction of the court that Francis Marion Pulliam an infant orphant of this County has no Estate and John R. Mudd who has said orphant in his possession having signified his willingness to take said Francis M. Pulliam as an apprentice to the trade of Black Smith. It is ordered that said Francis M. Pulliam be bound out as an apprentice to the said John R. Mudd from this date until he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years, he being 12 years old the 1st of May last and the Clerk of this Court is ordered to enter into an Indenture of apprenticeship wth the said John R. Mudd containing the covenents required by law accordingly.
