Could be son but dead before Leonard died. 1860 Civil Dist 12, Henderson Co., TN next to Edmund T. GAWF (could this be the SINGLETON children for whom Edmund GAWF later took guardianship? Is the wife Edmond's dau. Matilda?) Yes, M.J. is Marilda GAWF, d/of Edmond T. GAWF Singleton, S or L. 24/M $400 Personal prop. (ca 1836) everyone b. TN M.J., 24/F E.E., 6/M R.H., 4/M M.A., 1/F R.A. 20/F (could this be Rebecca A. SINGLETON, dau. of Sterling SINGLETON?, see 1850 census. These SINGLETON's lived next to each other.) (While The L (for Leonard) looks like an S., it's a different S than the one in SINGLETON. Look up J.K. LITTLE. This L also looks like an S. There are several other examples - the transcriber says this is an L. GAWFs son's belonged to. There's also a James P. & John SINGLETON. ------------ Leonard Singleton, Co K pvt, enlisted Saulsbury 9/1/63, age 27, 5'11", light complexion, blue eyes, dark hair, b. Hen Co TN, farmer, in Andersonville, paroled thru Savannah 11/29/64, residence Cravens Landing, d. Annapolis Maryland, in Ashgrove Cemetery. Pension has Edmond Goff as guardian of minor in 1869 (Ashgrove Cem. is now Annapolis National Cem. He's buried in Grave # 648, Section B, Section Grave #158) Peggy Holly reads his b. place as having originally been HAMilton Co. w/ HENderson written over it. I feel this connects him to James of 1850 Hamilton Co, TN who had a 17 son Lenard with him.
